The Panel on Optical Benchmarks features presentations from NTT, Cesnet, and Anritsu, covering various aspects of optical communication technology. NTT presents two demonstrations, the first showcasing an all-optical inter-data center connection across a live Open ROADM DWDM network and the second introducing a novel fiber-longitudinal power monitoring algorithm. Cesnet demonstrates centrally controlled CzL ROADM devices stream real-time telemetry, including a prototype sensor device detecting vibrations near the fiber. Anritsu's presentation focuses on the impact of non-linear effects on high-speed communication performance, emphasizing the importance of both frequency and time domain validation for modulator/receiver performance.
