OFCnet: Beyond Point-to-Point Quantum Key Distribution

First-generation Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) was strictly point-to-point and predominantly used single photon sources.  Today, companies use multi-node networks, entangled photon sources, low noise room-temperature single photon detectors and the broader telecom infrastructure to create broader based protocols and more complex architectures.  This panel will discuss the advances and developments as they work toward creating more adequate and valuable quantum networks for terrestrial and space quantum communication.  The panelists will describe their perspectives, the new capabilities coming soon, and the three solutions demonstrated at OFCnet by Aurea Technologies, Univ. of Bristol, and Quantum Telecommunications Italy (QTI).
