STARMAN NEW PHOTONICS DEBUTS “LIBERTY SERIES” AI TRANSCEIVERS AND EXPANDS U.S. OPTICAL MANUFACTURING CAPACITY AT OFC
New 800G and 1.6T optical platform support next-generation AI infrastructure while expanding U.S. manufacturing capacity
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 17, 2026) — Starman New Photonics (SNP), a U.S.-based photonics company, today announced its Liberty Series optical transceivers at the Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) Conference. The new platform is designed to accelerate the onshoring of advanced optical transceiver manufacturing to the United States while supporting the rapidly growing connectivity requirements of modern data centers. The Liberty Series launches with 800G and 1.6T optical transceivers designed for hyperscale data center deployments.“Building domestic capacity for advanced optical hardware is essential to maintaining U.S. leadership in artificial intelligence,” said Charles Tebele, CEO of Starman New Photonics. “SNP is helping address the growing demand for AI infrastructure while responding to government concerns around securing critical technology supply chains. By strengthening U.S.-based production and supporting an American workforce, we are working to ensure that the infrastructure powering AI is built on trusted domestic capacity.”
The rapid growth of large-scale compute clusters is driving unprecedented demand for high-speed optical networking, as modern systems increasingly rely on clusters containing tens of thousands of GPUs interconnected through high-bandwidth optical networks. The Liberty Series is designed to support these environments, delivering the performance and reliability required for hyperscale deployments and next-generation data center architectures.
Optical transceivers enable high-speed data transmission between GPUs, switches, and servers inside modern data centers, making them a foundational layer of large-scale computing clusters.
As advanced computing becomes increasingly central to economic growth and technological leadership, secure and resilient supply chains for critical hardware are becoming a strategic priority. By advancing domestic production of high-performance optical transceivers, SNP aims to strengthen the resilience of the U.S. technology ecosystem while supporting next-generation computing infrastructure.
SNP will showcase the Liberty Series platform and its technology roadmap during the OFC Exhibition, taking place March 17–19, 2026, in West Hall, Booth #4833.
