The Journal Review Process: All You Need to Know!

18 Mar 2026
12:30 - 14:00
Room 404 B

Journal publications play a critical role in advancing the optical communications industry by disseminating new results, ideas, and technological breakthroughs that become part of the field’s long-term knowledge base. This special event provides a behind-the-scenes look at the journal publication and peer-review process, following the journey of a research paper from submission to publication in leading IEEE and Optica journals. Speakers—including journal editors as well as senior and junior (student) reviewers—will share perspectives on best practices in peer review and discuss emerging challenges in the Journal Review Process in the Era of AI, including how AI is shaping the way we write, review and publish scientific papers. The session will feature short presentations followed by an interactive roundtable discussion and Q&A with the audience.

RSVP here to join us for a great discussion over lunch!
