OIF’s 400ZR coherent optics specification has been a resounding success for interoperability and propelled broader market adoption of IP over DWDM network architectures based on pluggable transceiver modules. The 800LR and 800ZR modules expanded the application space for coherent pluggables, creating alternatives to embedded transceivers in multi-haul networks. 1600G modules based on OIF’s application-optimized 1600ZR, 1600ZR+, and 1600CL specs will find new DCI, campus intra-DC applications spaces.
In this session, a panel of OIF experts will update the 800ZR and 800LR deployments and the status of the 1600ZR, 1600ZR+ and 1600CL Implementation Agreements, reviewing trade-offs in optical system performance, latency, power and density.
