Coherent pluggables, IPoDWDM and open line systems promise simpler architectures and better economics, yet operational responsibility becomes blurred once routers, line systems, controllers and analytics come from different suppliers. This workshop would focus on the production realities of disaggregated optical transport in live metro and regional networks: qualification, release coordination, fault isolation, service assurance, ownership boundaries and brownfield migration. From an operator viewpoint, the industry now needs an operator playbook, not another architecture diagram.
