The completion of the 1600ZR and 1600ZR+ Implementation Agreements mark a pivotal milestone in the evolution of high-capacity coherent links for Data Center Interconnect and Scale-Across applications, giving network leaders a clearer path to higher-capacity transport. Building on the success of 400ZR and 800ZR, contributions from more than 20 member companies addressed the challenges of higher-baud-rate and reach required to bring 1.6T coherent solutions to multi-vendor deployments.
In this session, a panel of OIF experts will translate those milestones into practical deployment lessons, provide a 1600CL development update, and outline the architectures likely to shape what comes after 1600ZR. The discussion will focus on the engineering considerations and architectural decisions that are defining next-generation coherent optical transport for data center interconnects, scale-across networks, and long-haul applications.
