EMCORE to Host Live Demonstration of its micro-ITLA for 40/100/400 Gigabit Coherent Applications at OFC/NFOEC 2013

Albuquerque, New Mexico, March 14, 2013 – EMCORE Corporation (NASDAQ: EMKR), a leading provider of compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for the fiber optics and solar power markets, announced today that it will host a live demonstration of its micro-ITLA (micro-Integrable Tunable Laser Assembly) at the 2013 Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Exhibition at the Anaheim Convention Center, March 19-21, in booth #3411.

EMCORE invites OFC/NFOEC attendees, industry analysts and members of the media to view the demonstration of its micro-ITLA throughout the duration of the show. The demonstration will illustrate the features making the micro-ITLA one of the most sought after components to power the next generation of high-performance telecom networks. EMCORE’s demonstration will highlight the flexibility of the micro-ITLA’s tuning capability, which allows tuning to any grid and frequency at different power output levels, with very low noise and superior frequency accuracy.

“We are very excited to demonstrate the micro-ITLA at OFC/NFOEC 2013,” said Jaime Reloj, Vice President of Business Development for EMCORE. “To date more than 400 samples have been shipped and the product has been designed into several key customers platforms. The micro-ITLA is currently being used in multiple field trials, and we are ramping production to meet demand.”

The micro-ITLA is based on EMCORE’s Clearlight External Cavity Laser (ECL) technology, which is the most widely-deployed tunable laser source for high-speed 40 and 100 gigabit per second coherent systems. It is fully C-Band tunable and EMCORE plans to make available L-Band tunability in the same form-factor later in 2013. Other advance features such as ultra-low power dissipation options and ultra-high output power will become available in the same time frame.

EMCORE will be exhibiting and meeting with customers and industry analysts at the 2013 Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Exhibition at the Anaheim Convention Center, March 19-21, in booth #3411.
