Tektronix to Showcase Test Support for 100G Optical Standards at OFC/NFOEC 2012

Exclusive Test Equipment Supplier for OIF Multi-Vendor High-Speed Optical Interoperability Demonstration at OFC

BEAVERTON, OREGON, Feb. 27 - Tektronix, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of oscilloscopes, today announced that it will have a strong presence at the OFC/NFOEC 2012 technical conference and exposition March 4-8 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, showcasing test support for 100G ITU and IEEE optical standards.

Optical engineers, whether working on optical components, transceiver subassemblies or transmission systems, will find the leading test solutions for their needs at the Tektronix booth, #1239, throughout OFC 2012. There, they will find demonstrations and technical theatre presentations featuring the industry-leading DPO73304D and DSA8300 Series oscilloscopes integrated with the OM4000 series Optical Modulation Analyzer along with the BERTScope Bit Error Rate Analyzer.

Optical test demonstrations at the Tektronix booth will include:

• Coherent optical modulation analysis of up to 240Gbaud
• 4 x 25G receiver test & pattern generation • Optical compliance testing for 16G Fibre Channel and IEEE 802.3ba 40/100GbE standards
• Demonstrations of QAM and OFDM signal generation using the Tektronix AWG7000

In addition Tektronix will be the exclusive test vendor supporting the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) demonstration titled OIF Interoperability 2012 – Enabling High-Speed Dynamic Services taking place over the course of OFC. The intent of the event is to show that component and the test equipment suppliers are ready to support the optical industry’s move to higher speed interfaces and backplanes.

OIF Interoperability 2012 Ten companies, including “Tektronix,” will unite under the banner of the Optical Internetworking Forum to showcase multi-vendor participation in OIF Interoperability 2012 –Enabling High-Speed Dynamic Services.
