Science research is accelerating data production, propelled by large-scale instrumentation, generating petabytes of data per year transported to compute and analytic centers worldwide. Consequently, network researchers are developing 400-800-1.2 Tbps Gbps E2E WAN services, based on (e.g., Software Defined Networking), 400 Gbps Data Transfer Nodes (DTNs), customized software, 400 Gbps smart NICs, 400 Gbps switches, 400 Gbps optical transport switches, and optical fiber. These demonstrations will showcase 400 Gbps E2E WAN services from the StarLight International/National Communications Exchange Facility in Chicago to OFCnet, and (potentially) integrate with a prototype quantum network.
