2025 Event App

Use the conference app to plan your day. Search for technical presentations; explore the Exhibition by viewing a list of exhibitors and show floor programs; and network with attendees. You can use most of the app features even if you haven't yet registered.

Access Technical Papers
Full technical registrants can navigate directly to the technical papers right from the app To access a Technical Paper, find the session or talk in the Event Schedule and click on the "Download PDF" link that appears in the description.

Plan Your Day With the Full Conference Program
Search for conference presentations by day, topic, speaker or program type. Plan your schedule by setting bookmarks or clicking "Add to Schedule" on programs of interest. Technical attendees can access technical papers within session descriptions.

Downloading the OFC App

  1. Search for OFC Conference in the Google Play or Apple iTunes stores. 
  2. Click one of the links below

Accessing the OFC 2025 Guide in the App

There are two tabs at the bottom of the Guidebook app. If this is the first time using the app for OFC 2025 click 'Find Guides' then click 'OFC 2025'. After downloading the guide it will be visible in 'My guides'.


Guide Onboarding

When you download a guide for the first time, you will go through an onboarding flow. 

The OFC app uses single sign on. Login using the email address and password used to register for OFC.

You will be asked if you allow the app to make certain information visible to OFC managment. You can read what information is available to OFC managment by consenting to share your information in our GDPR article.

When you first download a guide your profile is public within the guide. This means that your name will be shown to all users in the Attendee Connect and Chat feature. This allows you to make connections and chat in-app with other users. You can also be invited to attend a meeting by another public user using Meeting Booking when your profile is public in a guide.

When downloading the guide you will be prompted to select your interests. Your chosen interests will help us suggest connections to you based on the interests you select, and the interests of other public users in the guide. This is optional.

If you do not wish to be visible to other users, you can choose to make your profile private by navigating to your account. 


Tap on the  icon in the top-left corner of the screen to access the navigation menu.

Once the menu bar is open, there are three icons on the right-hand side. You can search for content within the guide using the magnifying glass. The share icon will allow you to share the cover page URL.

Features

From the menu, you can access the various components of your guide.

Exhibitors & Floor Plan

View the exhibition floor plan and a full list of exhibitors. Contact exhibitors or add a bookmark to visit them.

Schedule by Topic & Type

The schedule broken down by OFC topics and special events.

Full Schedule

The complete OFC schedule in a single view. Tap on the dates at the top of the screen to navigate through the schedule. Tap on a session name to get more details.

My Schedule

When exploring the schedule, you will see plus sign symbols next to session titles when viewing a schedule overview. Tap on the plus sign (+) to add a session to your My Schedule.

If you tap on a schedule session name to learn more about it, you will have the option to Add to My Schedule at the bottom of the screen. Tap this button to add the session to your My Schedule.

You can also create your own schedule items by tapping on My Schedule feature in the app and tapping on the plus sign (+) near the top-right corner. Add your personal session details, and click Save.

Speakers

A full list of speakers- presenters, presiders, show floor events and special events. 

Attendee Connect & Chat

If you choose to log in, your profile will be public and you will show in the Connect list. You’ll be given suggested connections based on the interests you filled in upon onboarding. You can add a picture and modify your profile (if you would like to share information) and chat with other attendees. When you are checked in to a guide you can be invited to meet other users using Meeting Booking.

Maps

Now that you know what’s happening and when you need to know where to go. You can tap on a location on the floor plan to see what sessions are happening there.

User Accounts

You will be prompted to log in when first opening the OFC 25 event.  To login later click the  icon in the top-right corner of the app screen. After logging in this icon will show your initial or image (if uploaded).

The OFC app uses single sign on. Login using the email address and password used to register for OFC.

Notification Center

Once logged in, you will find the Notification Center. Here you can see who has tagged you in a post, which users have liked/commented on your posts, and all other user account activity—in one centralized place.

A dot will appear over your user account icon each time a new notification comes through.

Inside the Notification Center, select from Messages, Alerts or Connections.

Click into each notification for more information and quick guide navigation.

Managing Your Profile

After you have logged in, You can edit your profile by tapping on the  icon in the top-right corner of the app screen. Tap the gear icon near the top-left on iOS devices and the top-right on Android devices to to access your Profile Settings.

At its very core, a user account is a profile one can use to access the OFC app. The account is comprised of a profile picture, first and last name, phone number, email address, and any tethered Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn accounts.

Managing Your Account

At the bottom of your Profile is the Account section. Here you can see the email address associated with your account and change your password. 

In the Account section of your profile in the mobile app, you can manage your Usage sharing and Guide visibility in the Privacy center.

When you are visible within a guide your name will be shown to all users in the Connect feature. This allows you to make connections and chat in-app with people you've connected with. You can also be invited to attend a meeting by another public user using Meeting Booking when your profile is public in a guide.

To make your profile private in a Guide, navigate to the Privacy Center on the app:

  1. Tap the profile icon in the top right corner to log in or create an account.
  2. Tap the gear icon to access your profile settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and open the Privacy Center where you can toggle on or off your visibility status for each guide.

App ID

If you choose to log in, when you tap to open the navigation menu, at the bottom you will see your avatar, your full name, and a QR code. Tap the QR code icon to view your app ID. Your app ID can be scanned by other event attendees to more easily connect and share profile information with each other. You can navigate between your code and a QR scanner to scan others' codes.

To send a connection request and accept the connection request, make sure you each scan each other's code.

Deleting Your Account

As part of our commitment to GDPR, we offer all of our users the opportunity to exercise their right to erasure. You can start this process this via the following link:  https://builder.guidebook.com/#/account-erasure/ .

This link will provide more information about the actions that will be taken automatically when you agree to permanently erase your account. As this is irreversible, please make sure you read through this thoroughly before continuing.

Connect & Chat

Tap on the Connect & Chat feature in the main menu. 

After logging in, you are included in this list if your profile is public. You are listed and your name will be visible to other users.

You can connect with another user here by tapping on the Add to the right of the user's name or by selecting their profile and tapping Connect with ... at the bottom of that page. You will have the option to include a message along with your connection request.

From the Connect feature, if you selected user interests you’ll also see suggested connections. These are based on what interests you selected upon logging in. They can be edited in the account settings.

Connect and chat

The user will get a notification to let them know that they have a pending connection. If you included a message in your connection request, they will be able to read it. They can either accept or decline the request.

Once the connection request has been accepted, the user will show in the Connections section of your profile and via the Connections tab in the Connect feature. When you tap on one of your connections you will see their full profile and have the ability to chat in-app.

Chat

Once a user accepts your connection request, you can send them an in-app chat message. You can send a chat via the Connect list or via your profile at the top-right of the guide.

You can either select the user's name and tap on Chat with button in their profile or tap on the Chat icon to the right of their name in the list.

You can access all of your existing connections and open chat threads via your profile at the top right of the guide. You can copy text within a message by long holding on a message and you can share a photo using the camera icon at the bottom left.

To remove a connection, access their profile and scroll to the bottom to find the Remove Connection option. All of the messages that you and this user have sent to each other will no longer be visible in the app.

Meeting Booking

Guide users can create one-on-one or group meetings in a guide with the meeting booking feature.

To make meeting booking available to users, make sure to add the My Schedule and Connect features to your guide.

Setting up a Meeting

There are a few places in the guide from which you can start a meeting. From the list of attendees in the Connect feature, you can click on a user, and tap Invite ... to meet. Alternatively, you can create a meeting from the Schedule or My Schedule features by clicking the on iOS and the calendar add button on Android.

After tapping one of the above access points, you can add your meeting details.

Title: Add the title of your meeting in this section. This is a required field.

Description: Describe the meeting here. This might include an agenda, topics you’d like participants to brainstorm about beforehand, or any other necessary information.

Add guests: From this section, you can add any guests to your meeting that are visible in the Connect list of the guide. You can scroll through the list or search for particular people. You do not need to be public or connected to someone to invite them to a meeting, though you do need to be logged in to the guide in order to invite guests. You can invite up to 15 people to a meeting.

Location: Select a location in this field. On Android, you can choose from the locations in the guide. On iOS, you can choose from guide locations, search for a location, find nearby locations, and create your own location.

Add conference URL: You can add a conference URL, like a Zoom or Google Meet link, in this section.  

Date and Time: Select the date and time of your meeting. You can also toggle the “All day” switch if the meeting is a full day.

Reminder: You can choose to set a push notification reminder for yourself. Invitees will be able to adjust their own reminder in the session. 

Editing or Deleting a Meeting

If you’ve created a meeting and need to make changes or delete the meeting, begin by navigating to the Schedule or My Schedule. Tap on the session, and click the Edit or Delete buttons along the bottom of your screen.

Tapping the Edit button will pull up the same overlay that you used to create the meeting. You can make changes as needed and tap Save on iOS or the check mark on Android. 

Accepting a Meeting Invitation

If you have push notifications enabled, you will get a push notification when someone invites you to a meeting. You can also find invitations in the Alerts section of your user account.

Tapping on the alert will bring you directly to the meeting details where you can accept or decline the meeting invitation. You will also see the meeting in the Schedule and My Schedule features. You can accept or decline the meeting from there, or tap into the meeting details and accept or decline the meeting from the details page.

From the meeting details you’ll see the current guest list, and you can change your RSVP if needed.
