Session Description
Network operators have long faced the challenge to grow capacity without proportional increases in power and cost. At the same time, networks must evolve to meet the needs of new applications. Today, artificial intelligence and machine learning are driving a unique set of design optimizations. Addressing this challenge will require some combination of component innovation and new system and network architectures. This panel will explore some of the concepts being discussed in the industry to reduce the power consumption for optical interfaces.
