On the Edge: MEC- based Network Architectures in Support of Enterprise Cloud

Tuesday, June 8, 2021
3:00 AM - 7:30 AM

Dimitra Simeonidou, University of Bristol, UK; Reza Nejabati, University of Bristol, UK; Elaine Wong, The University of Melbourne, Australia; Yawei Yin, Microsoft Corp., USA

The Symposium seeks to discuss research and practice related to architectures, design, implementation, evaluation and use of MEC for enterprise network solutions and applications. We would bring together industry and academia to discuss the opportunities and challenges that arise from rethinking enterprise networks by enhancing the capabilities and functionalities at the network edge.

Potential Topics include but not limited to:

  • Enterprise network architecture evolution – technology and business case
  • MEC for enterprise and private networks: solutions and trends
  • Cellular and optical Infrastructure convergence at the enterprise edge
  • Open RAN solutions for enterprise
  • Private vs public enterprise cloud: Is MEC a catalyst towards private solutions?
  • Terabit edge compute in enterprise: requirements and enabling platforms
  • Interoperability and scalability of enterprise edge cloud solutions
  • Algorithms and techniques for ML and AI at the edge for enterprise services
  • Efficiency, reliability, security and privacy
  • Pilots, deployments and use cases
