SiFotonics Adds COO, New Funding, and New Manufacturing Facility
San Diego, California---SiFotonics Technologies Co., Ltd, a pioneer and global leader in silicon photonics integrated circuits, today announced that veteran technology executive Dr. Rang-Chen Yu has joined the company as the Chief Operating Officer. The company also announces that it has successfully completed a new round of investment of more than $30M and will expand manufacturing capacity with a new production facility in Nanjing, China.

Before joining SiFotonics, Dr. Yu was Vice President and General Manager of Optoelectronic Solutions business unit of Oplink Communications LLC, a Molex company. Prior to Oplink, Dr. Yu was Global Vice President for Source Photonics. Dr. Yu also served senior executive and management positions with Fiberxon (acquired by MRV), Agility Communications (acquired by JDSU), and SDL (acquired by JDSU). He earned his Ph. D. in Solid State Physics at University of Pennsylvania, and B. S. in Physics from Peking University.
