Monitoring Band PON-OTDR
A new product release – the PON-OTDR (PONy) of Fisec GmbH – is presented to the world at Fibotec Fiberoptic´s booth at OFC/NFOEC 2011. Fibotec owns special IP in correlation-OTDR technology and supports their customer Fisec in this live demonstration. The PONy is a compact, USB-powered instrument that detects, locates and maps automatically the signature of ONU´s in the monitoring band (1625nm). Additional estimates of budget levels and faults in the feeder fiber help to maintain and restore the PON-capabilities. Fisec is a provider of fiber security and fiber surveillance technology in communication applications. Fibotec Fiberoptics is partner for customer specific fiber optic products with special know how in fiber optic light sources, interferometers and ranging applications.
