Auxora Introduces 50GHz Tunable Filter Chip

Duarte, CA –– Auxora Inc, a leading provider of optical thin film filter (TFF) related products, today announced the 50GHz channel spaced DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) tunable filter chips.

The 50GHz tunable filter provides a feature to enable the extraction of a wavelength from any one of up to 96 DWDM channels by changing the input light angle to the filter.

“With emerging 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s next generation optical systems, as well as wider use of ROADM’s (Reconfigurable Optical Add/drop Module) in networks, the optical tunable filter will play an important role as a good solution for next generation OPM (Optical Performance Monitor) to measure the channel power and OSNR (Optical Signal to Noise Ratio) more accurately”, said Jinghui Li, President at Auxora. “Our 50GHz tunable filter chip provides the flat top, compact size, and a rapid tuning feature which provide a competitive, alternative OPM solution for our customers.”

The 50GHz tunable filter has been shipping to customers since late 2010. It complements Auxora’s WDM product portfolio, based on NanocodeTM thin film coating technology and proprietary bulk diffraction grating technology, that includes GFF (Gain flatness filter), CWDM (Corse Wavelength Division Multiplexing), and DWDM product family. This is an ideal solution for customers who want to build tunable filter based OPM and/or wavelength selectable filter arrays for small scale ROADM’s.

About Auxora
Auxora is a leading provider of optical thin film filter based products as well as proprietary bulk diffraction grating based products. In particular, Auxora’s products include Gain Flattened Filters (GFF) used in optical amplifiers, DWDM and CWDM filters, Optical add/drop filters, and 50GHz/100GHz tunable filters. Auxora products offer competitive solutions to telecom, datacom and CATV/MSO service providers to solve their fiber exhausted problems, bring higher bandwidth solutions and provide for more flexible network options. Auxora’s thin film filters can also be used in bio/medical devices and in other none-telecom fields.
