PRESS RELEASE
07 March 2023
NEL-A, Fujitsu, NEC, Ribbon, and UT-Dallas jointly created OpenLab@UT-Dallas dedicated to Open ROADM interoperability validation
OpenLab@UT-Dallas is a distinct non-profit entity jointly established by the University of Texas at Dallas (UT-Dallas) and a group of optical network equipment and components vendors (NEL-A, Fujitsu, NEC, and Ribbon) in 2022. The goal of OpenLab is to validate interoperability of hardware and software solutions for Open Optical Networks according to the specifications published by the Open ROADM Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) at OpenROADM.org.
As an independent organization, OpenLab provides a common secured space for conducting interoperability validation of Open ROADM compliant equipment and software. OpenLab will also issue validation labels for vendor equipment successfully achieving the required level of interoperability. The OpenLab personnel will also continue to contribute to the staging of public interoperability events and demos at major conferences.
Visit booth 6341 at this year Optical Fiber Communications Conference (OFC) in San Diego, CA from March 7-9 for the latest interoperability demo with eight different suppliers interoperating using Open ROADM MSA standards.
