Session Description:
Coherent interfaces have been standardized to reach as short as 10km at 800G. Looking to higher data rates, coherent will likely be used for even shorter reaches. IMDD technology will not stand still, and AI use cases promise to drive large volumes in short interfaces for years. This session will invite industry experts to explore how the landscape for client optics will evolve and where the boundaries will shift between coherent and IMDD as we move toward higher interface speeds.
