Fibers using air as the core medium have the potential to significantly reduce latency in optical networks and enable higher launch powers, but have been notoriously difficult to manufacture and deploy. Recent announcements of live trials and deployments hint that hollow core fiber may be ready for wider deployment. In this session, manufacturers and users of hollow core optical fiber will present their latest results and predictions for the future of hollow core.
