Deployment of 400ZR and the Ongoing OIF Work to Define 800ZR/LR

Wednesday, 09 March 12:00 – 13:00
Theater II

Session Description:

The OIF released the 400ZR Implementation Agreement in March’2020 and wide-scale deployment is well underway for this new interoperable coherent standard. In this panel session by OIF industry experts we’ll give an overview of 400ZR, including ongoing maintenance, and highlight its deployment status, networking topologies, and use cases. The panel will then give an overview of current 800ZR and 800LR technical work including technical challenges and insights on where the options of DWDM and unamplified versions could be deployed and the trade-offs to be made. Is this the point where coherent networking does come into the data center?

Moderator:

Richard Ward, Engineering R&D, Intel; Market Awareness & Education Committee Co-Chair, Physical & Link Layer, OIF, USA
