Since the release of the first Consortium for Onboard Optics (COBO) specification in 2018, many companies have initiated development of COBO compliant products. In 2019, COBO members will share their experiences in the past year and also their aspiration for the coming years on their future development. This will include development in systems, sub-systems & also both electrical and optical components.
Brad Booth, Principal Network Architect, Microsoft; President, COBO, USA
Brad Booth is a distinguished leader in Ethernet technology development and standardization. Currently the President of Consortium for On-Board Optics, he is a Principal Network Architect at Microsoft Azure Infrastructure leading the interconnect strategy for Microsoft’s cloud datacenters. Brad is the founder and past Chairman of the Ethernet Alliance, and he has also held senior strategist and engineering positions in the CTO office of Dell and Intel.
Bernard HL Lee, Regional Technology Director, SENKO Advanced Components, Hong Kong
Bernard is a senior telecommunications and business strategy professional with more than 15 years of global experience in telecommunication & data communications arena especially in the field of optical fibre communications. Bernard is an Expert at the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), a Chartered Engineer (CEng) accredited by the Engineering Council of UK, a Professional Engineer (PEng) registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and also a BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD). In the past 15 years, Bernard has designed, commission and audited numerous communications networks.
