Adaptive Silicon Photonic Switch and Machine Learning Based Quality of Transmission Estimation (M3Z.3)

All-photonic networks are critical for the next-generation of communication infrastructure, promising reduced energy consumption and low-latency transmission. We demonstrate an all-optical smart switch combining network reconfiguration with AI-based quality-of-transmission estimation on a silicon photonic device.
