Source Photonics expands 40G/100G product family for client side applications

CHATSWORTH, Mar. 6 - Source Photonics Inc., a leading global provider of optical communication products used in telecommunication systems and data networks, announces the live demonstration of its 40GBASE-ER4 CFP transceiver module at OFC 2012 in Los Angeles. This 40GbE transceiver supporting 40km reach is the latest edition to Source Photonics’ 40G client transceiver module portfolio.

Source Photonics already released the 10km version into mass production. Both transceivers support multi rate applications including Ethernet, SONET/SDH and OTU data rates. All pluggable CFP transceivers fully comply with the MSA with support for MDIO interface and integrated digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM). Source Photonics’ strong vertical integration and proven high volume manufacturing capability provides customers with an attractive price roadmap enabling future cost savings.
