General Availability of a Fully Qualified Embedded Parallel Optics Transceivers for Defense & Aerospace Harsh Environment

POINTE CLAIRE (Montréal) - Reflex Photonics announces the general availability of its fully qualified LightABLE™ 40G SR4 embedded parallel optics transceiver designed to perform in harsh environmental conditions. The qualification was executed following the Telcordia GR-468-CORE and MIL-STD-883E standards and includes severe environmental, mechanical and long-term reliability tests to meet the demanding requirements of D&A industry.

The LightABLE™ 40G SR4 is a 4-lane full duplex transceiver operating at 10 Gbps per lane offering the following features: small SWaP, operation under industrial temperature range (-40°C to 85°C), storage temperature from -57°C to 125°C, and operation with a bit error rate (BER) as low as 10-15. The optical fiber interface is a standard MT ferrule directly attached to the module for compatibility with standard die mounting processes. The LightABLE™ products can be surface mounted or plugged in close proximity to high-speed electronics and support high temperature reflow process; a unique feature for such products.

Mr. Jocelyn Lauzon, Product Line Manager at Reflex Photonics adds: This milestone demonstrates Reflex’s unique expertise in the development and fabrication of embedded parallel optics transceivers with the required level of ruggedness to be deployed in the field for multiple Defense & Aerospace applications. The LightABLE product family has been designed by taking into consideration all the requirements of the industry for practical, surface mountable, highly efficient, high-speed electro-optic components. It is quite an accomplishment to demonstrate such a high level of ruggedness from a product compatible with volume production processes. Reflex Photonics will complete the qualification of its other LightABLE products, including the 12 channels, 10 Gbps per channel SR12 transmitters and receivers by Q1 2016.
