Anritsu MP1800A BERT Part of High-speed Demonstrations of Mindspeed CDR Retimers

Anritsu Company (booth #2519) announces that its MP1800A BERT will be part of live high-speed demonstrations in the Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. booth (#1174) during OFC/NFOEC, March 19-21, Anaheim, CA. The MP1800A will be used to highlight the performance of Mindspeed®’s leading M37040 and M37041 quad 28 Gbps clock and data recovery (CDR) retimers.

“We are pleased to use the MP1800A for our 100 Gbps retimer demonstrations at OFC/NFOEC. Anritsu’s MP1800A BERT provides us with the capability needed to showcase our next-generation physical layer components. Mindspeed is dedicated to providing world-class high-performance analog components, and Anritsu helps enable that by offering high-quality test solutions," said Ryan Latchman, Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Applications Engineering, at Mindspeed.

“Anritsu is committed to working with companies at the forefront of optical communications technology, such as Mindspeed. Our test solutions, such as the MP1800A, have been developed to deliver industry leading performance so that the high-speed next-generation components and devices can be designed with a high degree of confidence. Participating in the demonstrations with Mindspeed is testament to our commitment and their leadership,” said Peter Alexander, PhD, Assistant General Manager, Americas Sales Region.

Mindspeed’s M37040 and M37041 are designed for use in next-generation modules and systems supporting data rates up to 28 Gbps. Both devices are designed to retime at 25.78 Gbps for 100 GbE applications, 27.95 Gbps for OTU4 applications, and 28.05 Gbps for 32 Gbps Fibre Channel applications. The M37040/M37041 are ultra low latency devices that do not require an external reference clock, eliminating the need for external timing components. These devices feature leading performance with the lowest power consumption in their class, exceeding OIF CEI-28G VSR interface requirements with excellent jitter tolerance and optimal output jitter needed for next-generation optical modules and active cable assemblies.

The MP1800A is an expandable plug-in modular BERT with a built-in PPG supporting output of high-quality, high-amplitude signals; a built-in ED with high input sensitivity supporting signal analysis, such as Bathtub Jitter and Eye Diagram Measurements; and a jitter modulation source for generating various jitters, such as SJ/RJ/BUJ/SSC, and supporting jitter tolerance tests. The MP1800A supports synchronized 8-channel BER test with wideband bit rates from 0.1 to 32.1 Gbit/s for versatile signal integrity analysis applications up to 32 Gbit/s, such as 100 GbE, OTU-4, 32G DP-QPSK, CEI-28G, 32G FC, and InfiniBand EDR.
