The sole purpose of an interview is to get a job offer. No matter what a person’s current employment situation is, everybody likes having offers on the table and feeling desirable. Yet many candidates approach the interview with a defensive or offensive standpoint, act casual or nervous, or come in underprepared or too early. By creating a clear objective, preparing for the interview process and following through on simple practices, candidates greatly increase their job prospects and boost their name recognition in the industry.
Both experienced interviewees and candidates who haven’t applied for a position in a decade can benefit from learning about today’s interview practices. Candidates will learn how to prepare for classic and progressive interview questions, research a company and its people, and navigate the balance of being “too technical.” This interview session will encourage prospective candidates to consider the ways they prepare for an interview and develop a strategy for their next opportunity.
